These are my links for January 9th from 09:14 to 09:21:
- Fixing Windows Vista, one machine at a time | Ed Bott’s Microsoft Report | ZDNet.com – This blog post shows that Windows does suck, but it's not necessarily Microsoft's fault. It's kind of scary: which dysfunctional process led to Sony selling PCs that are unusable? Apparently they corrected the problem, but they appear to have lost at least one customer to Apple.
- One More Go: Ranarama – Offworld – One of my favorite games from the 80s. I played it on the ZX Spectrum. AFAIK Rana Rama was the spiritual sequel to Quazatron (another favorite), which was the Spectrum remake of Andrew Braybrook's Paradroid.
- Freemium business model case study: AdultFriendFinder ARPU, churn, and conversion rates | Futuristic Play by @Andrew_Chen – Interesting analysis of how a big online service attracts customers, and how they pay for it.
