Especially the hunt in the showdown sequence comes to mind, where the characters jump from door to door, from location to location. And I think I remember a Marvel comic from the 80s, where a bad guy hat black spots on himself that he could place wherever he wanted and then reach through them ... a Spider-Man story? Still, apart from the original Prey (which was never released) I can't think of a game from that time that pushed the gameplay side of portals as far as Portal. And although I have seen cartoons with wacky physics (Bugs Bunny comes to mind, as well as Tex Avery), they did not remind me of Portal's use of portals as Pixar's cartoon did.
