Spore is coming to the Mac January 18, 2008

I realize this may not interest a lot of people, but I am glad to read that
Spore will be released for the Mac. Oh, and Call of Duty 4, but I’ll just play that on an Xbox 360 if I’ll play it at all. (Maybe I really should give one of them new-fangled World War II shooters that the kids are raving about a go… I hear good things about some game called Medal of something.)

Now let’s hope Spore works on my old dual G5 PowerMac. Maybe I should get a new iMac? Or a MacBook Air? Gah.

It’s gonna be Intel Mac only. Like other recent EA’s Mac games, it’s actually a Windows/DirectX game that runs through TransGaming’s Cider.

Oh right… I think I even blogged about that.

If you get the MacBook Air, you’ll still need your PowerMac to read the CD and install the game. (Unless it’s a direct download, of course.)

I’ll say this, the Air is by far the prettiest peripheral device out there.

'O' Says:

Even if you get the Air, you’ll need to piggyback off your PowerMac’s optical drive to install the game.

Ah, such a pretty, powerful peripheral device the Air is…

Jurie Says:

Well, yeah, I don’t want it to become my main computer. It’s for traveling. That’s why I waited to hear about the Air before ordering a MacBook.
