Portal was the most fun I've had with a computer game in years. Maybe since Diablo II came out. Works almost flawlessly on every level it attempts. Easily worth the price of the orange box alone. The humor is pitch-perfect, all the way through to the ending song (don't try to listen to it before you finish the game!) This will be my example for game design lectures for years to come.

Oh, right, that's why Play.com was so cheap.

In principle that sounds like a good idea, except this is one of the few games I'd like to own :)

Ah I see... play.com is from the Jersey Islands... which is not a part of the EU surprisingly. Anything from there over €22 is subject to zoll.

Game.co.uk is from Basingstoke I believe.

Would it pass customs? Play.com has become unusable ever since the customs loophole was closed.

I have that T-shirt too :) It lost its curiosity value when the game finally came out...

I never played the full game but the demo was pretty good. It still involved a lot of mind-bending portals, but they were all pre-defined, and not dynamic like in Portal. Back in the mid 90s portals were also the hot new graphics technology.
