My Xbox 360 died just as I was downloading the Bioshock demo. Sob. I have the dreaded red ring of death.
Oh well, Microsoft support was nice about it. It may take up to 25 working days, but I should have a working machine again at some point.
That’s what you get! Get a Wii! :)
Wow… you are the first person I know to brick. I was thinking it was an internet hoax as 4 other friends of mine who have 360’s never have had a problem. What was you manufacturing date and where did you buy it?
PS. Oh and please write a blog about the shipping process.
I also thought it was overhyped, but well, I guess not. Ironically I don’t use it that much, so I doubt it was due to overheating.
I bought it around June 2006, at Saturn.
Hmmm… well I know the things practically liquify the motherboard circuits when on so any movement while it’s “hot” can rework the hardware. But most likely one of the main manufacturing plants created time bombs that were randomly dispearsed throughout the world.
Anyway just finished the Bioshock demo, unbelievable. It really raises the bar for what developers should do as far as creative design. The opposite of your Oblivion review as the world is expanse while offering a more linear narrative storyline which unfolds as you progress. Quite like an interactive movie with the force on one hand and a gun in the other.
Try to swing by Monday night (after dark, it is much better) and you can check it out before you are off to Leipzig. And bring my gears please :-)
